Sweelincks "collorirte" Bearbeitung von Dowlands Lachrymae Pavan, zuerst 1595 als Lautenpavane und 1600 dann im Second Booke of Songs and Ayres als das Lautenlied Flow, my tears erschienen. In dieser Form wurde es schnell zu Dowlands berühmtestem Werk.
